Recently, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its nonpartisan analysis of the American Health Care Act (AHCA) that passed the House earlier this month. The CBO report shows what we already knew—that the AHCA would be devastating for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.

It would result in 14 million more uninsured people in 2018, increasing to 23 million in 2026. The report goes on to say that in states that waive essential health benefits and community ratings, it would become more difficult for less-healthy people (including people with pre-existing medical conditions) “to purchase insurance because their premiums would continue to increase rapidly.”

This fight continues in the Senate and Komen will continue to advocate against the AHCA
