Get a Free mammogram at the NSDC NAACP 151st Annual Juneteenth Multicultural Celebration and Jazz Festival. This day-long event, on June 18 from 9am – 5pm in Oceanside, CA on Pier View Way will have a vendor marketplace (shopping, food), youth activities, and informational and health awareness booths (free mammograms and health court). Live entertainment from professional and local talents will be presented throughout the day. The Youth zone will feature games, face painting, crafts, and other fun activities. Additionally, Basketball clinics will be hosted periodically throughout the day.
Qualified women are those with no insurance, are underinsured, 40 years and older or women under 40 with a family history or concern and/or who have not had a mammogram within the past year.

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.
