Third Party Events
Raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer! It’s easy to get involved and make an impact by participating in one of the following programs.
Bowl for the Cure
Bowl for the Cure® is a year-round fund-raising and breast cancer awareness initiative conducted by the United States Bowling Congress to support Susan G. Komen®. USBC Associations, Leagues, and other groups help drive this program through bowling events with fun formats all in an effort to support the fight against breast cancer. Event forms and tools, as well as event ideas, are available to help ensure a successful Bowl for the Cure® event at www.bowlforthecure.com.
Rally for the Cure
Rally for the Cure is a grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen through volunteer organized golf, tennis and social events. Rally was created to empower people to take action in the fight against breast cancer by educating women about the disease and reminding them to get their annual screening to ensure early detection. Anyone can organize a Rally for the Cure! If you are interested, visit the Rally for the Cure website to find out more information.
KitchenAid, in cooperation with Villeroy & Boch, introduces a ceramic serving plate that reads “Cook for your friends. Cook for your family. Cook for the Cure.” The plate, marked by a pink ribbon, is meant to be passed to friends and family along with a culinary specialty prepared by the giver. Once the plate is passed, the recipient is then asked to do the same. Every time the plate is passed and registered at www.CookfortheCure.com/PassthePlate, KitchenAid will donate $5 to Susan G. Komen ®. Those who register will be able to view their plate’s travels on the site and upload stores, recipes and photos about their pass. More information is available at www.CookfortheCure.com/PassthePlate.
KitchenAid: Party Series
Those who love to cook and entertain can turn a meal with friends or family into a party with a purpose by simply asking each guest to make a donation to Komen. Guests can choose to have their donations benefit their local Komen Affiliate. Each person who registers to host a Cook for the Cure® Party on CookfortheCure.com can download Party Kit that provides ideas for raising funds while hosting a party for family and friends on CookfortheCure.com. More than 20 pages of recipes and tips provide the necessary tools for a wonderful brunch, appetizer, dessert, or dinner party. A Cook for the Cure Party is any get-together, from an impromptu backyard barbeque to a formal black-tie event. It is easy, fun, and for a good cause, so have your Affiliate’s invite or direct those interested to host a party to help raise funds for Komen. Don’t forget to let people know to earmark the funds for your local Affiliate by marking the box on the donation form located at the back of the Party Kit brochure.

Hosts can register their 1,000 Cooks for the Cure parties in advance at www.CookfortheCure.com. There they can find party ideas, recipes, and donation form available for download. Every host that raises a minimum of $50 from a 1,000 Cooks for the Cure party will receive a Pass the Plate serving dish.
