National Volunteer Appreciation Week

April 19-25 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week!

This week, and every week, Susan G. Komen San Diego recognizes the hard work, dedication, and benefit volunteers add to our organization. We want our volunteers to know how special and amazing they are! We know how much our volunteers have given back to Komen and appreciate their heart, passion, and commitment to the women and men we serve.

Whether you have helped us in the office, staffed a health fair, worked tireless hours on one of our committees, or assisted at a Komen event, YOU made a difference.

We often don’t put a price on things that bring us happiness, but sometimes it is so very important to measure the monetary impact that volunteering makes for organizations like ours.

Volunteers like YOU gave back over 2,948 hours to Komen San Diego during fiscal year 2020 (April 1, 2019 – March 31, 2020)!

Volunteering has been valued at $29.95 per hour according to the Independent Sector.

Because of your dedication to our mission, the time you have given to Komen San Diego has saved us $88,292.60 in costs and that has allowed us to focus our limited funds on our vital community grant programs and screening and diagnostic services.

Thank you to our volunteers for being Komen advocates and for making a difference in our San Diego community. Your gift of time has truly made an impact on our community!
