Screening Mammograms and Clinical Breast Exams

For help accessing a free or low-cost clinical breast exam or screening mammogram, call 858-573-2760 or email info@sdkomen.org.

Mobile Mammography

Komen San Diego funds mammograms on mobile mammography coaches to provide breast cancer screening where women work, live, pray or shop. Go to KomenSanDiego.org to find an event near you.

Diagnostic Services

When a breast screening test reveals something abnormal, a follow-up test, known as a “diagnostic service,” is needed. Komen San Diego’s Diagnostic Fund covers the cost for:

• Mammograms
• Surgical consultations
• MRIs
• Breast biopsies
• Ultrasounds
• Ancillary services

How else does Komen San Diego fight breast cancer?

BREAST HEALTH COLLABORATIVE

Komen San Diego leads a quarterly breast health collaborative to ensure the professional breast health community works together to identify best practices, build consensus, and provide a unified voice about the unmet needs of San Diego County and direction of breast cancer policy and care.

PUBLIC POLICY

Real change can only come from changing the system. Komen is the non-partisan voice for more than 3.5 million breast cancer survivors and the people who love them. Komen translates the Komen promise to end breast cancer forever into action at all levels of government.

EDUCATION & OUTREACH

To reduce the incidence of late stage breast cancer among San Diego’s at-risk populations, the Susan G. Komen San Diego team provides breast health education outreach to address the absence of consistent and accurate breast health and cancer information in the African American and Latinx communities.

RESEARCH

Susan G. Komen is the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research outside of the U.S. government and much of that investment has been awarded to scientists in San Diego. Nearly 70 percent of our research investment is focused on metastatic disease.
